Why Edible Earth

When we treat compostable waste as the valuable resource that it is, we benefit our soil, produce healthier food, reverse climate change and make all round happier, healthier humans.

To protect our climate.

Carbon sequestration is an integral part of reversing climate change and the life within our soil plays a key role in this, as well as ensuring our produce is full of nutrients and minerals.

There is more life in one teaspoon of soil than there is on planet Earth, and it is bloody important that we look after and foster that life.

Over the years, humans have depleted our soil nutrition world wide through modern agriculture, which has contributed to the detrimental effects of climate change.

Through composting, living regeneratively and creating Edible Earth we are able to replenish our soil health.

Healthy soil equals happy humans.

To stop wasting our waste.

If you bury a banana skin in a landfill you could retrieve it in 7 years time in it’s almost true form. This is just plain wrong. That banana skin is a resource. Within the banana skin lies millions of nutrients and minerals that our soil needs to stay healthy, grow nutritious produce and sequester carbon.

If we are to look at our kitchen and garden waste as a resource that it truly is, and put this to good use by composting it in our home we can use it to create healthy soil - which creates a healthier planet.

It’s time to stop wasting the waste.

To feed our land and people.

Food is a vital universal resource, it brings people together and creates healthy communities.

When we grow food from Edible Earth it is more nutritious and delicious. Degraded soil health has meant our food is up to 38% less nutritious today than it was 50 years ago. Growing food locally reduces our carbon footprint and creates abundant and accessible food for all.

We are striving for a more responsible country in order to benefit our communities and safeguard our future, and it starts with creating Edible Earth.

We can grow our food and eat it too.

For a healthier planet, and happier humans.

Universally, nutrition, connection and education are vital aspects of human life. Connection with other humans and with our land is extremely valuable.

In today’s society we are so disconnected, if you ask a child where their food comes from there’s a high chance they’ll say the name of the last supermarket giant they visited. This is not okay. We’re here to encourage more green time and less screen time.

Simply through growing local food, educating communities on growing produce and consuming locally we can work towards sprouting healthier communities that are passionate about looking after our soil and our planet. We are setting future generations up for life.

We are the (Re)generation.
